Harvested on April 20th 2002 & fermented in open fermenters for 7 days before
draining & pressing.
Tasting note:
A full-bodied richly flavoured powerful Australian Malbec with generous robust
fruit and soft gentle tannins with delicate background complementary oak. The deep
resilient colour is a hallmark of this variety and underlays the powerful fruit flavours.
Aged in a combination of French & American Oak 300L & 220 barrels for
10 months maturation prior to bottling 19th August 2003.
Potential aging for such a full-bodied wine 4-7years.
Great dishes to enjoy this wine with:
Roasted Pheasant with caramelised onions and garlic.
Lamb shanks with white bean salad and potato galeate.
Winemakers Comment:
An outstanding 2002 vintage has produced the finest flavours from this variety.
