Brett Howard has had the Wine Industry in his blood virtually all his life, having grown up on his parents' vineyard at McLaren Vale. His 20 years experience have seen him involved in a wide variety of processes, in both large and smaller specialist boutique wineries.
He first gained experience at Thomas Hardy & Sons, which he joined in 1982. His responsibilities mainly centred on table wine production with special emphasis on final stabilisation and clarification of wines ready for bottling.
In 1987 he decided to produce his own unique styles of table wines and commenced production under his Blewitt Springs label. At the same time he gained experience in specialist winemaking technology by working as assistant at the Mount Hurtle Winery. Blewitt Springs is now gaining increasing recognition for wines of richness, intensity and longevity. The Blewitt Springs range continues to expand with quality and value being upmost in the winemakers' attitude.
